Educational disclaimer

Mutually Funded, its website (mutuallyfunded.com), videos and social media content are for general educational purposes only. Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, legal, or mental-health advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

Mutually Funded offers couples money education and coaching only. It is not a registered investment adviser and does not manage money or provide investment advice. Coaching is not a substitute for licensed professional services.

No results are guaranteed. Your situation is unique; consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

Website forms

My website has two kinds of forms. The sign-up form asks for your first name and email. You use it to join the interest list or to get a free download, like the 3-Question Money Check-In or the Couples Budget, which you download right after signing up. The questions form asks for your name, email and question. Both are processed and stored by my website host, Netlify, on my behalf, and I get an email alert at hello@mutuallyfunded.com. I use sign-up emails to send occasional Mutually Funded updates and tips, and I use questions only to answer you. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask to be removed at any time.

Client information

When you book coaching, I collect your names, emails, optional phone numbers, the state you'll be in for sessions, the intake answers you choose to share about your money goals and habits, and my session notes. Payments are processed by Stripe; I never see or store your full card number. Client records are kept in my business Google Workspace account, protected by two-step verification and limited access.

AI assistance is part of my coaching

I use an AI assistant, which I supervise, to help organize intake answers, prepare session agendas and draft recaps. I review its work, and every coaching judgment is mine. It doesn't talk with you directly. With the prior written consent of everyone in the session, I also use AI (Google Meet's "Take notes for me") to transcribe and keep session notes, which are stored in my Google Workspace. You give that consent when you both sign the coaching agreement. Because AI assistance, including these notes, is part of how I work, coaching is available only to clients who both agree to it; you'll be asked before you book or pay, and if either of you doesn't agree, I'm not able to coach you. You'll see when it is on. If either of you withdraws consent, I'll stop the notes right away and our coaching ends, with any refund under the refund terms in your coaching agreement. If either of you withdraws consent during a session, the session in progress ends at that point and counts as held. Notes and transcripts already made are kept and deleted under the coaching agreement's retention terms, or deleted sooner if you ask. If anyone other than the two of you joins a session, I'll get that person's written consent to the AI notes before they speak, or they won't join that session.

I do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

What I don't collect

Please don't send me Social Security or ID numbers, birth dates, home addresses, full bank or card numbers, account logins, passwords or codes, statements, medical or mental-health information, or details of abuse. Rounded totals (for example, "about $12,000 in card debt") are all I need. If you send something on this list anyway, I'll delete it and won't put it into my AI assistant or any other tool. If something on this list comes up during a session that is being transcribed, I'll delete it from the notes or transcript after the session.

How long I keep it

I keep client records for up to 2 years after our last session. This includes session notes and transcripts. I do a cleanup every month, delete records more than 23 months past our last session and empty my Google Drive trash, unless the law requires me to keep them longer. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. I'll delete it from my files and tools within 30 days, except records the law requires me to keep. My providers then remove deleted data from their systems on their own schedules; for Google, backups can take up to about 6 months.

Cookies and usage data

This site does not set any cookies of its own and does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. My website host, Netlify, may log IP addresses and basic usage data (such as pages requested, browser type, and time of visit) to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. Fonts and images are served from my own site, not from third-party services.

Third parties

The service providers that handle information for me are Netlify (website and forms), Google Workspace (email, client records and session notes), Stripe (payments) and my AI assistant (described above). Links to YouTube, TikTok and other sites are governed by those sites' own policies.

If something goes wrong

If a security breach affects your personal information, I will notify affected people as the law requires, and notify state authorities where the law requires it.
